Free visits: a free visit leaflet is available at the entrance to the château in 11 languages, of which 5 also exist in a version for children (advised duration: 1h 30mins).
Guided visit Immerse yourself in the atmosphere of the Renaissance and set off to discover the architectural masterpiece of François I. Accompanied by a lecturing-guide, you will visit the monument from top to bottom, from the popular places to those which are a little less well known. It is an invitation to take a different look at this building, its builder, and the period when it was built.

Audio-guided visit Visit the château at your own rhythm by choosing the commentaries (duration 1h 30mins). There is on-site hiring of audio-guides, depending on availability (no booking possible). In full autonomy, you make your way around the monument choosing which commentaries to listen to - a simple way to appreciate the monument, for young and old alike. Adult version available in 10 languages: French, English German, Italian, Dutch, Spanish, Portuguese, Chinese, Japanese, Russian. Children’s version available in 7 languages: French, English, German, Italian, Dutch, Spanish, Portuguese. Duration: 1h 30mins - Fee: 4€ for individuals / 3€ when in a group.
In-depth visit of the domain A privileged visit organized within the privacy of a group with limited numbers: during one afternoon, you will be accompanied by a lecturing-guide who will open the château doors to you, even into the most secret of places. You will take the time to wander, observe, and appreciate all the architectural intelligence of the site. It is at the current time the most complete visit of the monument. On weekends and national holidays at 2.00 pm. Maximum number per group is 18 - Duration: 3h
Recreational visit Set off to meet a figure from the past (brother Thomas, Jeanne - the messenger girl, Julien Couldray - the king’s clockmaker, or maybe Gilles Drevant - an actor from the Molière drama troop). Immerse yourself in that period of time to discover the old way of life at the château. Something unusual to be shared with your family (only during the school holidays and long weekends). Group limited to 30 people. Duration: 1h 30mins
Unusual and recreational A booklet of enigma by Cassandre the Salamander invites the younger visitors to discover the secrets of Chambord. An 18 page booklet will guide a child and his/her family around the essential places in the château. Read, observe, find your way, count, and write: this is the strategy you will need to solve the 8 enigma; find the final magic word and the winning prize is yours. It is a new way to visit the château with your family, freely, all while having fun. A personalized pencil is offered with the booklet, and there will be a gift waiting for you when you reach the end of the game. For children aged from 8 to 12, along with the rest of the family.
