Nantes

For the last few years, this capital of the west really has the wind in its sails!
In terms of heritage, the magnificent 18th century residences and port of Isle Feydeau are a real must. The cathedral and the Château of the Dukes of Brittany also hold many secrets for you to discover! The town uniquely unveils all of its charm to those who enjoy wandering around… By day and by night, the heart of the Dukes City is beating strongly in the medieval quarters of the Juiverie, the Bouffay and from now on in the banana hangar (a particularly festive new place to walk, just opposite the Loire)!
As for the shopping, the shop windows and the signs are doubly seductive and reaching their culminating point with the famous Passage Pommeraye, a magical covered passage with an unusual charm often acclaimed by the seventh art.
And regarding culture, at the Lieu Unique and Fine Arts Museum in particular, there is a fine encounter with art, modernity and passion. In Nantes creativity is something which grows by the day, proof of this is in the Royal de Luxe street-theatre company which has made this town its cradle.

Worthy heirs of Leonardo da Vinci and Jules Verne, the Machines of the Isle have been in the news since the summer of 2007. Come and dream at the elephant’s feet: 12 metres high, 40 tonnes of steel and wood... It can take around thirty passengers on board for a walk along the Loire, both inside the stomach cavity and on its back. The Machine Gallery (laboratory and exhibition combined) puts these fabulous dreamlike machines on stage with the help of artist-operators setting them in motion for to help tell their story. At the heart of these vessels is the workshop where these machines are created, as well as the dream shop where they come to life. And both are open for you to come discover!

Clisson

The town, proudly overlooked by the majestic ruins of its château, is a maze of narrow picturesque streets with an amazing Italian-like charm. Granite, brick, and red tiling all blend into perfect harmony. There’s nothing better than wandering around a town full of delicate Italian fragrances: villas, umbrella-pine-shaded gardens, a church along the southern peninsula, and much more… With the Garenne Lemot park, Clisson offers one of the most splendid walks in the region. Strongly influenced by Italian scenery and architecture, this estate offers a collection of Romantic fabriques (follies) hidden here and there in the shade of trees, antique statues, and a neoclassical-style villa… Not to be missed: the remarkable 15th century market hall where the market is still held today, overflowing with fresh local produce. A wide range of exceptional places to eat where good Muscadet wine is also served!
